“Thank you so much for giving your time to talk with us last week. You are inspirational, not just from your history, but your passion and leadership. You are so well rounded on so many topics and I am so eager to read your book and hear about your continued success. I sincerely hope this is not the last time you are involved in a series like this with Enbridge!”
“Steve, Thank you for sharing. It was very enlightening.”
“Excellent speaker, very engaging.”
“This session was truly educating and inspiring, both of which are extremely impactful on racism and prejudice in society. Education is the common denominator through all BHM discussions, and that is why these sessions are so impactful to employees. Continued education about historical and societal issues through the workplace is extremely important, because learning of that kind shouldn’t end in secondary school or post secondary education. Thanks for putting the work in to make this effort long lasting.”
“I appreciate him coming out and speaking to us. We (including some of us who are minorities but who have achieved success and are now so far removed from our immigrant past or who can “pass” as white) get so isolated in our perfect upper crust world in Calgary, working our great jobs with benefits at Enbridge and living in our nice homes with benefits and good schools with every opportunity and privilege imaginable. Some of us never or rarely see a black person and certainly don’t know one enough to be aware of their struggles or challenges. This type of event brings us back into the real world with the problems and challenges that still exists and put a face to the statistics. It is good for us to get out of our bubble from time to time and realize what a world of privilege we live in and how it is not shared by all Canadians.”
“A great speaker and true inspiration!”
“Steve – you are an amazing inspiration and thank you for sharing your story with us. I truly wish you the best in your future pursuits!”
“I was just extremely impressed and inspired by Steve’s passion and commitment to making his community better. I could have sat there and listed to him for another hour…or two! Can’t wait to read the book!”
“I appreciate his willingness to share his experience and to participate in a forum that allows others to gain further insight into him and his passion. His candor and transparency was informative and a cause for introspection.”
